@everyone A new yEAh Event is coming soon! After the yEAh Elections end on November 7th, a new event called the "yEAh Games: Season 1" (name not taken from Squid Game at all) will be commencing; in this event, you will be battling against other contestants in yEAh Games for a chance to be crowned the @yEAh Champion 👑. If you lose, you will die. The events in this tournament will be: Random Guy TCG - #👨-rules-random-guy Wa Wa West ++ - #🔫-rules-wa-wa-westᐩᐩ (Possibly) Pokémon - #deleted-channel Unpainted Wall Ball - #deleted-channel Jailers and Unfriendly People - #deleted-channel

The event will be starting after the elections end, around November 8th, but it is not confirmed yet.

Signup will be commencing around then as well, and dates for specific events and matches will be chosen.

The events will most likely be taking place on the school yard, with some online.

They will probably be going on for around a month.

It will be taking place in tournament fashion, with contestants competing against each other, then against the winners of another match, and so on. It is not yet decided if this will take place in teams. Credit to @Blitzkrieg von Koenig for the idea, he will most likely be managing it. (edited)

@everyone Referendum for the yEAh Game: In your opinion, should the yEAh Game contain some games not necessarily made by yEAh Games, and some of which are more athletic? (E.g., soccer, running, etc.) This is mainly because we have more people joining the yEAh Game who are not necessarily familiar with our games; so far, there are 4 people who aren't members of yEAh Games. Also, some recent news: @Torin (Jeff) is now officially a yEAh Game Guard -- the yEAh guards will act as referees in the games, and be tasked with "removing" the losers. (edited)

@everyone I am looking for names for both yanguages currently being used in yEAh Games, and I need your help to suggest them. Please go to #yanguage and click on the "Name suggestions" thread to propose some names. This will be open, obviously, until the thread archives in 24 hours. The names will be for the original yanguage, where we simply replaced consonants with "y"s and added "y"s in front of vowels (along with other rules, too); and for the new yanguage, with whole new characters, pronunciations, etc. THIS MEANS THAT I NEED TWO NAMES! Seriously, though, the website was needed; having everything on the Discord, without being able to see it anywhere else, caused some problems. - For one, if you needed to see any information about anything yEAh Games-related, you had to go onto the Discord. There was no other option. - Secondly, as more and more features were added, channels started to appear quite frequently, and eventually started to clutter the server. - Third, finding information is much easier now, with search features and everything in one spot, without having to go combing through thousands of messages. - Fourth, this way, nothing can be erased. If someone purposefully or accidentally erases important information in the server, it cannot be retrieved. Having information somewhere else, safe, is a good thing. Also, it's not like the website causes you any harm; I'm the one who's actually managing it.

@everyone The new yanguages of yEAh Games have been officially named! These are our official languages (with English and French), but other languages are still allowed, of course. Most announcements will still be done in English, and the server structure will remain how it is. You will eventually be able to change yEAh Games documents to whichever official yangauge you want, including the website. Wumilcixupaiata is our improved, detailed, and actual language, complete with pronunciations. See #yanguage for help. In simple terms, Discord thinks that the bot is trying to 'hack' it by sending so many (API) requests that their servers overload (DDoS). This happens because the bot runs on a (web)server that is constantly being pinged by another webserver to keep it from falling asleep and the bot going offline; but every time the webserver gets pinged, the bot has to reload — which is sending too many (HTTP) requests to Discord in that time frame. The issue should be fixed relatively quickly, and we're working on a fix to the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience!

@everyone — New moderation standards The moderators have reached a conclusion: The server is in a state of chaos that needs to be resolved. We will be working on creating a new set of rules (with the members' feedback) based on problems currently happening in the server. Certain problems happening in the server include: • Lack of civil conversation; a lot of conversations are arguments. • Lack of respect towards others. • Violation of simple rules but the moderators do not care/don't do anything. Moderators will actually enforce these rules with moderation action (demotion, mutes, bans from certain channels, timeouts, kicks, and even bans), contrary to what happens now where moderators tend to not care about rule violations. This means that violating these could lead to moderation action against you. So, starting today, the rules in #📜-server-rules and other general rules (they will be redone) will start to be enforced in the server. Most violations will leave you with a timeout for a few minutes. We are not planning on enforcing bans (unless the problem is a raid; a problem that lead to a ban before this). Certain people may be demoted or only allowed to participate in only certain channels. You may also receive a "Muted" role, a "Prison" role or a "Probation" role depending on what the Yourt decides, if there is a trial. Remember you can always appeal mod action at the Yourt (#🔰-appeals) until we have a forum channel for help/support and Yourt trials. More announcements are to come. @Server Ping: Mod applications are now open Want to become a moderator for yEAh Games? Want to earn Yollars and help the server? Want to be able to run the server? Want to have something to do because you have no life? Well, if you answered "yes" (or "no"; we don't care) to any of those questions, becoming a mod may be for you! yEAh Games is looking for one new moderator to help with the possible uptick in server activity/members as school restarts. They will be required to carry out basic duties (e.g., enforce the newly set-out rules, help members), but will also sometimes have tasks such as: Announcements, event planning, brainstorming, channel managing, mod discussions, polls, QOTDs, finance, bot work, server management, etc. You may also have to participate in yEAdministrative-team duties, including managing the server, working on the website, doing official announcements and events, etc.; but usually this will be taken care of by the Founders. This does not mean that you will do any of these. We may only decide that we need a moderator for, for example, rule enforcement & new-member management, and that's all you may have to do, along with the current mods. Payment is decided based on your the amount of work you accomplish. Please apply in the thread below with any experience (is not required) and why you believe you should become a mod. @Server Ping: SERVER RESTRUCTURING (There is nothing important in this announcement, just notes about what has been changed over the past few days.) In case you haven't noticed, the server has been moderately restructured, mostly based on the new Discord forums update. We've also modified a few other channel setups and categories for better organization and less useless-channel clutter. Note that all old channels that seemingly have been "replaced" are still archived in the "Archived channels" category, in order to keep the message history accessible. You are not able to sent new messages, though. Smaller changes may be coming soon, as well. Changes: ➔ Text channels replaced with forums: • #polls: Instead of text channel polls, they now take place in forums for easier discussion and organization. Anyone can also now post a poll, but official/moderator polls will still be marked with a tag. • #forms : Instead of forms in threads (sort of as a way to emulate forums without the actual feature), they now take place in actual forum posts. Visit the proper forum post and use the form in the channel. • #📰-newspaper: In order to keep discussion and posts organized, newspaper articles now have to be posted as a post in the forum. This way they can be discussed, sorted, and organized easily. • #💰-marketplace: Since the channel was already essentially a forum, this was an easy decision. Posts can be made, tagged, sorted, and discussed, all in an organized fashion. • #🔨-trials: Trials will now take place in forum posts instead of threads for easier management, viewing, archiving, etc. All old trials can now be easily viewed as posts, and only people we want can discuss in them. Post any questions, debates, discussion topics in a forum post if that fits better. • #📖-yealbum: Originally a possible forum replacement for #📔-church, we decided to make it another option for both #😹-memes and #📔-church, except in a more-organized forum way. Anything can be posted in this channel as a post for viewing and discussion. • #🎓-study-forums: Discuss, post, question or answer anything study or school-related in this forum. Be it a question you don't understand, possible study dates, alerts for upcoming tests/due dates, requests to help, comments about work, explanations, etc.; check the tags for possible specific options. • #🤬-hate-channels: Made to replace the ever-growing category of semi-useless hate channels that did contribute to discussion, but didn't actually require an entire channel. This way infinite channels can be posted, tagged, etc. See "Hate channel suggestions!" to suggest a new hate channel.

➔ Channel reorganization/decluttering: • The Yank, YVFTs, the CasiYES, stocks, etc. have all been combined into one "The Yank" category to save space. Some useless channels in this category have been archived, including multiple chat channels for each category. Each "news" or announcement channel has been turned into an announcement channel at the top of the category. • All games have been merged into one category for decluttering (most channels weren't being used). Like what happened above, all announcement/info channels have been turned into actual announcement channels. Many (at least 10) rule channels that had one message and were just taking up space have been combined into #🎲-other-games instead. The eight other chat/voice channels that went along with each category have been combined into one, along with a suggestions channel. • Some categories have been moved around for easier access based on today's wants, and better organization. ➔ Other changes: • The rest of the channels and categories have been renamed with their corresponding emojis to follow the theme of the rest of the server. This includes the Yourt, Games, The Yank, etc. • The @Prisoner role now works. When given to a member as a punishment or more severe timeout, all they can do is talk to mods in a special channel and view warnings. They will not be able to talk to other members, nor see anything other members post. (Mods, when creating a new channel, please make sure to update channel overrides so Prisoners cannot view it). @everyone: The October 2022 yEAh Games Elections have ended and results have been released. After a week of voting with a choice of four parties, the voting period has ended. The official results are as follows: @Danté (Aidan) (via @Rick Astley (real)) [Rick Astley; Rick Astley Party]: 43.48% of the vote @!becs (via @!becs) [bro pro; bro's pro party]: 26.09% of the vote @Niel (dimitri) (via @Niel (dimitri)) [Neil MacDonald; True Canadians Party]: 21.74% of the vote @Graham (.HEIF) (via @Graham (.HEIF)) [Gigantor, destroyer of mankind, consumer of worlds, and enjoyer of fresh baked cookies; Squatch]: 8.70% of the vote Percentages may not add up exactly to 100% because of automatic rounding. It is impossible to find them (and is really confusing) when they are not organized and I want to review & post them. I have no idea who has DMed them to me, when, etc., and then when I do find one, I have to write my own submission for later posting; it would be much easier if everyone submitted them in one spot.
